"Not for the Faint of Art"

Carolyn Carlon is a Lafayette artist and a retired
Reading Specialist for the Lafayette Parish School
System. Throughout her career, Carolyn helped
many children find the joy in reading. After
retirement, Carolyn traveled extensively in North
America and focused on finding the best venue for
her creative endeavors. She feels most at ease with
watercolor because she feels the flow of colors help
her to demonstrate her relationship with nature.
Each of Carolyn’s works showcase her high energy
and appreciation of life through her use of color and
composition. Carolyn’s paintings reveal an aspect
of nature that we sometimes neglect to acknowledge:
a true zest for life and growth, and an abundance and
exuberance that manifests in color and form.
